| I skated the Park a lot in the 70's 80's and 90's and it was a great place to skate. The 70's were the best with Andy Lomas and Darren Birdell. |

I skated for years off and on at Southport skatepark, from the late 80's 'til it closed around the end of the nineties somewhere. Me and some mates would come from Skem in the summer to skate and loved the holiday feeling of being next to the sea, carving up the park. Using pieces of concrete fencing as coping...
I dont rememeber all the names of the locals but Julian was a mellow bloke and I remember some day-glo surfer type bloke who used to do some kind of flips ( it was a long time ago, maybe my mind is not what it used to be ) |
